Android Card Games
These are card games that I found to be interesting or fun, at least for awhile.
For more card games, see:
Some of these card games are offline gambling games against the computer, not against other people. I don't gamble in real life (apart from playing Blackjack in the casinos in my younger days), but poker and Blackjack computer games can be fun. The interesting thing is that they demonstrate how easy it is to lose your money, which tends to discourage real-life gambling.
App developers sometimes add or change or remove features, so there might be slight discrepancies between my descriptions (below) and the current versions of some apps.
Canasta
by KARMAN Games (free) - This is a
Canasta
card game. Tap the face-down stack of cards in the middle of the screen to take a card. To discard, tap one of your cards and then tap the discard pile. To lay down a meld, tap the appropriate cards in your hand and then tap the empty area above your cards. The "pause" button to the right of the discard stack will return you to the Main Menu without aborting the current game. If the "pause" button has an "X" on it then this will allow you to undo your move.
Contract / Shanghai Rummy Free
by ePoint Mobile (free) - This is a
Contract Rummy
card game, which is similar to the
Phase 10
card game. Tap the face-down stack of cards in the middle of the screen to take a card (the new card will be placed into your hand, sticking out a little bit). To discard, tap one of your cards and then tap the "Discard" button. Just below the center of the screen, a gray box describes the contract which you need to fulfill, such as a set of 3 and a set of 3. Beneath this box, the first icon will pop up a window which displays the current scores, and the second icon will sort your cards in numeric order or in suit order. When another player discards, you'll have a short amount of time to "buy" the card which was discarded (before the timer runs out) by tapping the card. The card will be added to your hand, and the top card from the face-down stack will also be added to your hand. After buying a card, you still need to take a card from the face-down stack or from the discard stack. After you take a card, (but before you discard) if you can fulfill the contract then the gray "Contract" box (just below the center of the screen) will turn green so you can tap it. Tap it, and a set of buttons will appear, one for each part of the contract (e.g. "Set-3"). Tap the active (green) button, and the appropriate cards in your hand will be selected. Tap the green "checkmark" button to lay down the selected cards, or tap the red "curved arrow" button to cancel. Do the same with the other parts of the contract. When you're finished, tap the green "checkmark" button, then discard a card. After you have fulfilled the contract (and other players have laid down cards to fulfill the contract), when it's your turn you can add a card to any player's group of cards by tapping the group of cards. If your card can replace a wild card in that group of cards then you'll be given the option of taking the wild card. When a player is out of cards then the hand is over. Tap the red "Next" button to start the next hand. Below each player's cards, an orange icon indicates that one part of the contract has not yet been fulfilled (I think). The "P" indicates each player's points.
Crazy Eights
by BlackDino (free) - This is a
Crazy Eights
card game. The "click" icon at the top of the screen will pop up a window which displays all of the cards that have been played. The "clock with a curved arrow" icon is the Undo icon.
G4A: Go Fish!
by Games4All (free) - This is a
Go Fish
card game. When the arrow is pointing at the light blue box which shows the number of books you have, it's your turn to play (a "book" is a set of four cards with the same rank, such as four Queens). Drag one of your cards onto one of your opponents' hands to find out if they have any of that card value.
G4A: Sevens
by Games4All (free) - This is a
Sevens (or Fan Tan)
card game. To play a card, drag it to the center of the screen.
Gin Rummy
by Tesseract Mobile (free) - This is a
Gin Rummy
card game. You can drag your cards to any position in your hand, or tap the "Sort Hand" button to sort your hand. To draw a card, drag the face-down stack toward your hand. To discard, drag a card to the face-up stack.
Hearts Free
by AI Factory Limited (free) - This is a
Hearts
card game. Tap a card to play it (if the wrong card is selected then slide your finger to the correct card). Tapping the "Menu" button brings up some icons: Tap the "question mark" icon to get a hint for what cards to pass or what card to play. Tap the "wrench" icon to bring up the Game Options menu.
Multi Hand Blackjack
by Naive Code (free) - This is an offline
Blackjack
game against the computer. There are three ways to play, which can be changed in the Settings menu: In Three Hand Blackjack you always play three hands, and the money for these three hands all comes from the same set of chips (you start off with $500, which is displayed in the top left corner of the screen). Multihand Blackjack works the same way, but you can choose to play one, two, or three hands. Multiplayer Blackjack lets you play one, two, or three hands, but each player has its own set of chips (each player starts off with $500, which is displayed in the top left corner of the screen). To place a bet, drag one or more chips into a betting circle. The total amount of the bet is displayed in the betting circle, but the chips are not displayed in the betting circle. To remove a bet, tap the betting circle (tap the betting circle again to restore the original bet). To deal the cards, tap the deck of cards in the top right corner of the screen. The current player's betting circle will turn a light blue color, and the total amount of the cards will be displayed in the betting circle. To play, tap one of the buttons in the bottom right corner of the screen. For advice on what play to make, tap the deck of cards. In the Three Hand and Multihand versions, a blue line under your chips will get longer and longer as you play. When it reaches its limit, you'll receive some new chips and you'll see a message like, "You have received $47." You can also receive free chips even when you're not playing (see the Tutorial).
Pai Gow Poker (Free)
by Donutman Software (free) - This is an offline
Pai Gow poker
game against the computer. Your current amount of cash is displayed in the top right corner of the screen, and below this is your current bet and your "bonus bet" (an optional side bet if you have Three of a Kind or better). To change these bets, tap the "Change Bets" button. Tap the "Deal" button to be dealt 7 cards, then slide two cards into the positions at the top left corner of the screen so you have a two-card poker hand (the "Low" hand) and a regular five-card poker hand (the "High" hand). Your High hand must be a stronger poker hand than your Low hand. If your Low hand and High hand beat the dealer's Low hand and High hand then you win. If both of the dealer's hands beat both of your hands then you lose. If you win one hand and the dealer wins the other then it's a push (tie). If both of your hands tie with both of the dealer's hands then the dealer wins. There's one Joker in the deck which can be used as a wild card in a straight or a flush, else it's an Ace. The hand rankings are the same as in regular poker, except that a hand of A-2-3-4-5 will beat a hand of K-Q-J-10-9. To see how the dealer would play your hand, tap the "Dealer Way" button (if you don't like the way the computer played your cards, you can rearrange the hands by dragging the cards). Tap the "Done" button when you're finished building your hands, then the dealer will play.
SlapJack !
by SnowyTracks (free) - This is a
SlapJack
card game.
Solitaire Free Pack
by Tesseract Mobile (free) - There are numerous solitaire apps in the Google Play apps store, but this one has a huge number of solitaire games and a nice user interface.
Spades Free
by AI Factory Limited (free) - This is a
Spades
card game. Tap a card to play it (if the wrong card is selected then slide your finger to the correct card). Tapping the "Menu" button brings up some options: Tap the "question mark" icon to get a hint for what to bid or what card to play. Tap the "wrench" icon to bring up the Game Options menu.
Spit ! Speed ! Card Game Free
by 2-Person Studio (free) - This is a
"Spit" or "Speed"
card game. After the cards are dealt, you can arrange your piles of cards by dragging a card on top of another card which has the same value (e.g. drag a 3 on top of another 3, and drag a Q on top of another Q). Tap a face-down card to turn it over. When all of your face-up cards are unique, you're ready to play. The computer will place its hand on its face-down stack of cards when it's ready to play. Tap your corresponding face-down stack, and then one card from each stack will be placed into the play area. If the value of one of your face-up cards is one higher or one lower than a card in the play area then quickly drag your card onto that card in the play area. After you drag a card onto the play area, it will usually reveal a face-down card under it. Tap the face-down card to turn it over, and arrange your piles of cards by dragging a card on top of another card which has the same value. After you drag a card onto the play area, it might leave you with an empty stack. You can drag any card onto the empty stack. When the computer can't make a play, it will place its hand onto its face-down stack. When you can't make a play, tap your corresponding face-down stack. The goal is to get rid of all of your cards before your opponent does. In the Settings menu you can adjust the speed so the computer doesn't play too fast or slow. To play with two human players, tap "New Game" and then tap "Normal - Duo."
Super Five Card Draw Poker
by Sundown Studios (free) - This is an offline poker game against computer opponents. Tap the "New Career" button, then enter a name and a gender, then tap the "Create" button. A loan shark will loan you some money, which you must pay back in seven "game days" (not seven real days). The idea is to pick a game
(Five-Card Draw,
Texas Hold'em,
or
Blackjack)
and keep playing it until you're bankrupt or you've won all of the money by bankrupting everyone else at the table. Then pick a new game and try to win all of the money again. As you win games by beating everyone else at the table, you build a career and gain fame (you can't play at the higher tables until you gain enough fame). To play, tap the "New Game" button, then scroll through the list to select a game to play. In the five-card draw games there are five dots to the left of your cards. When you win some money, which bankrupts another player, then one of those five dots will disappear (if another player wins some money and causes someone to go bankrupt then none of those five dots will disappear). If all five dots disappear then you've played a "perfect game" by causing all of the other players to go bankrupt. This is the best offline Five-Card Draw and Texas Hold'em game that I've found.
Tablanet 3D (Tablic)
by Toni Rajkovski (free) - This is a
Tablic
card game. Tap the "Play" button to play. To play a card when you can't match any cards on the table, simply fling a card from your hand onto the table. To match one or more cards on the table, first tap the matching cards to highlight them, then fling your card onto the table. At the top of the screen, your score and the computer's score are displayed (with a colon between them). In parentheses, your number of cleared tables and the computer's number of cleared tables are displayed (with a colon between them). Tap the "magic wand" icon to make the computer play for you. When the game is over and the scores are displayed, tap the "circular arrow" icon if you want to reset the scores.
Uno Free
by Gameloft (free) - This is an
Uno
card game. When it's your turn to play, tap your cards to see all of the cards, then drag one of your cards onto the discard stack. If you can't play a card, tap the face-down stack to get a new card. When you have two cards left and you can play one of them, the "UNO" button will appear so you can tap it to declare Uno before playing your next-to-last card. To play with two or more human players, tap "Multiplayer," then choose "Online Multiplayer" to play against someone over the Internet, or choose "One Device Multiplayer" to play against someone else where both of you are using your phone. After tapping "One Device Multiplayer," tap each player's color to change it to "Player" (i.e. human player) or "Off" (i.e. no player) or "CPU" (i.e. the computer will play this position).
XTreme 10 Phases
by bivani IT-Studios (free) - This is essentially a
Phase 10
card game. After you receive your cards, the discard pile and the face-down deck will flash to remind you to take a card. Tap the pile that you want to receive a card from. To the left of the discard pile, a grayed out set of cards indicates what your goal is for this step. For example, if you see a grayed out set of three cards with the same value and a grayed out run of cards from 1 to 4 then your goal for this step is to have a set of three and a run of four. When you make your goal, drag the appropriate cards to the grayed out areas (for a run of cards, place them in numerical order), then tap the green button which appears. To discard, drag a card to the discard pile. When you play a Skip-Turn card (a circle with a slash through it), you'll be prompted to choose a player who must skip a turn. Wild cards have a
fleur-de-lis
on them. After you've spread out the cards which are required for the step you're on (which might be different from the steps that other players are on), you can add cards to your own spread-out cards or to other players' spread-out cards. When you tap one of your cards, if it can be played onto someone's spread-out cards then the spread-out cards will become larger.
